So now they have the girlfriend and the actress to play her, for the upcoming Spider-Man movie directed by Marc Webb.
Emma Stone, 22, was in the recent movie Easy A, a $40 million success, and also Zombieland.
Sony hasn't confirmed it, but Variety broke the story and MSNBC First Look just mentioned it.
Now the question apparently is: what will happen with the projected new 21 Jump Street movie, which was being written to co-star Stone? What a great problem to have, really.

Stone can be seen next year in Warner Bros.' "Crazy, Stupid, Love," opposite Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling, and in "The Help," with Bryce Dallas Howard, Sissy Spacek and Viola Davis. Stone has a cameo in Screen Gems' "Friends With Benefits" and will lend her voice to DreamWorks Animation's "The Croods."
